A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth, thin enough to let light through the way enamel does. Where your teeth allow it we fit them with no filing at all; where they do not, the filing is slight. The fake, all-alike look people call Chiclets comes from one shade and one size repeated across a mouth. We design each tooth on its own, and you wear the design before anything is made.

For a tooth that is broken, worn down, heavily filled or has had a root canal.
A crown covers the whole tooth and gives it back its shape and strength. We make them in zirconia or E-max. Zirconia usually goes on back teeth, which carry the bite, and E-max on front teeth, where it blends in; the doctor explains which suits your tooth, and why. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by resting on the teeth either side. Where the bone allows, an implant can spare those teeth, and the check-up shows which is right for you.

Laser whitening lightens your own enamel in one visit at the clinic. It does not change the shape of a tooth, or the colour of old fillings and crowns, so we check those first and tell you plainly whether whitening alone will give you the result you want. The visit includes a cleaning and polish. It usually lightens the teeth by 2 to 6 shades, and the result typically lasts 6 to 12 months; coffee, tea and smoking shorten it. We do it at most once a year, to protect the enamel.
For gums that show too much when you smile, sit unevenly, or look darker than you like.
Smile at a mirror as you normally would. If the band of gum above your front teeth is taller than the white tip of a fingernail, you probably have what is called a gummy smile. It can come from a lip that lifts high, gum that still covers part of each tooth, or teeth that never showed their full length, and the check-up shows which is yours. Dark gums can be lightened by laser too.
